The 2012 Camaro ZL1 just bowed in Chicago. It has a 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V-8, good for 550 horsepower. Six-speed manual with a racing clutch. Dual-mode exhaust, like the Corvette. Magnetic Ride suspension, like the Cadillac CTS-V. Brembo Brakes.
Sounds pretty damned hot, but will it cannibalize CTS-V (or even Corvette) sales? I guess my answer is, "Who cares?" as long as I get to drive it.
Mullety muscle!
OMG it's fucking beautiful!

ReplyDeleteBody styles are still so different between the Camaro and Vette that you're dealing with two different audiences. I used to cell Chevy's and corvette shoppers wouldn't even LOOK at a Camaro.
ReplyDeleteWow what a beauty

ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S a nice car.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful machine right there, I wish I could afford one.
ReplyDeletePersonally I'm not too impressed with the newer models of old muscle cars. Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, and the Charger all look terrible in my opinion. I understand the appeal with these cars, but lately I haven't liked the new models because I feel that they all look too much alike. They all have this large "boxish" frame to them and to me I'm not into that.
